Life has been busy, week of March 23rd, I made a trip to Ningbo to review a program with one of our factories and flew home the next day. Had dinner with friends two nights, wonderful local resturants very cheap prices and great food.
The weekend of March 27-29th was a big sporting event in Hong Kong, the Hong Kong 7's which is a 7 man rugby team tournament. Teams from all over the world travel to Hong Kong to play in the tournament, the US even showed up (didn't know we had a team). The tickets sold out within 2 hours of going on sale in January. I was not one of the lucky ones to get a ticket but I have fabulous friends who take good care of me and had extra tickets which they shared with me. My friends asked if I was dressing up in costume for the event which I guess is pretty popular, I had to pass because I didn't have time to organize. The event has around 40,000 attendees, the photo below is crowd control which HK is fantastic at keeping crowds under control.
My friend Belinda and I headed out early on Saturday (9:30 am) to watch the US team play, games are two 7 minute halves. Saturday all teams played two games and Sunday was the play-offs and bowl games. We heard the best section would be in the South Stands so we headed there and found it rather full but luckily there were a couple seats down towards the bottom (about 10 rows up from the field). I was rather surprised the seats at the top were full but later in the day realized why (I'll get to that later). You must be 18 or older to be in South Stands as it is an area which drinking seemed to be the dominate sport rather than rugby. The other sport we participated was watching the crowd in South Stands, rather entertaining. Seriously, was there a rugby game going on???? Check out some of the costume photos, there are many which I could not post... We ended up moving to the East upper stands around 3:30 due to beer cups (with beer or other liquids) flying and we were pretty sober compared to most individuals.

Sunday I was with Jay and Darcy in the West upper stands. We actually watched the games which Kenya and Fiji were in the final and Fiji was the winner. This was my first time watching professional rugby players and I am hooked. I hope to come back to HK next year and plan to dress up in costume.
